Askew "Kew" (DOB 09.24.2014) is the daughter of Emmy (Phyre vom Patiala) and Rico vom Patiala and was the pick puppy from our 'A' Litter. She is linebred on Jilnannah vom Talka Marda who was the reason we purchased her mother in the first place. Askew is trained in Schutzhund and has continued our breeding program. "Kew" is our BHOT dog - Bred, Handled, Owned and Trained by us.
Kew is a fearless dog with a stable temperament and very high prey drive. Although she can appear hectic, she settles well in the house and is relatively easy to live with. She has a huge work ethic and never gives up. She has been both a joy and a challenge to work but she brings with her both her parent's love of the sport, clear head and biddability. Kew is very much like her parents but has many of their traits amplified.
Kew has been shown and received an SG 1 rating and is breed surveyed under SV Judge Dieter Oeser. Kew is a member of the GSSCC Schutzhund 3 Club.
Kew has an impressive pedigree. Along with her parents (who are both owned, trained and titled by us) out of her 5 generation pedigree, only 5 dogs are titled to less than SchH 3 or IPO 3 and 27 have FH (advanced tracking) titles.
Kew is the mother of our E Litter, F Litter and G Litter
Description: Kew is an average sized female (64lbs) with high energy and a love of life. She is always ready to go and can be very vocal about that. She has no environmental issues or allergies and has great nerve and a clear head.
Coat: Kew has a short standard sable coat and carries black & tan as her recessive colour gene.
Her breed survey reads as follows:
Small, medium strength, very good expression, normal proportions, somewhat steep upper arm, adequate form back, adequate good movements, normal rear angulation, P2 bottom left missing. Stable temperament, TSB Pronounced, Dog Outs.

This section are the health test results for Askew von Tighe Haus. These tests were done for three reasons; first, breeding by SV standards requires health testing. Second, some additional testing should be required - and third, we want to do all we can to ensure the health of our breeding stock.
I have heard discussions that insinuate some breeders 'over test' to charge more for their puppies and I have also heard that the only reason someone would run non-required tests is because they suspect there may be an issue. Neither of these statements is valid here.

Test: The test is non-competitive and allows dog and handler to demonstrate confidence and control in 12 steps. It assesses the handler and dog's relationship, together with the handler's ability to control the dog. Dogs are evaluated on their ability to perform basic exercises as well as their ability to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations.

The judge tells the handler to begin, and the dog and handler proceed at their own pace through a course of designated stations (10 - 20, depending on the level). Each of these stations has a sign providing instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The course is timed.

Date of Trial - December 12/13, 2015 Age - 6 years Sudbury Kennel Club Judge - Guy Touchette / Sandy Briggs
Test: Seek back, 2 Scent Discrimination Articles, Signals, Moving Stand for Exam & Directed Jumping (2)
Comments: Emmy had scores of 190, 189 & 190.5 to complete her Utility title. This was probably the hardest title she earned because of the number of non-qualifying errors that are possible. Emmy ended the year as the #8 GSD in Obedience in Ontario and #12 GSD in Canada.
Date of Trial - October 25, 2015 Age - 5.5 years SchH Club of Buffalo Judge - Franz Kampenhuber SV

Date of Trial - Oct 10-13, 2019 Age - 9 years Nickel City Cluster, Buffalo NY Judges - K.Wrey/L.Ferrullo
Comments: We had to learn a few things for this level - but again she earned the title without running a single course.
Date of Trial - Oct / Nov, 2019 Age - 9 years Buffalo NY/Syracuse NY Judges - K.Wrey/L.Ferrullo/N.Hayes
Test: Directed Retrieve, 2 Scent Discrimination Articles, Signals, Moving Stand for Exam & Directed Jumping.
Comments: After taking Emmy out of retirement and training for about 6 months, she had no major issues earning this title. She is now the only GSD to have an IPO 3 and Utility titles with both the CKC and AKC. Her title is actually "preferred" Utility because I wasn't sure if jumping her at full height at her age was a good idea.
